Other than it being terrible last few days, did it just die?

Well that was awesome! They mustve been clearing the tubes as international is back and pingtimes are back to 600ms for international sites, yay

Damn, that's pretty good, about the same as my pings on SAIX at the moment.

Mine also went down and now that it is backup, even a simple search on google take 15 mins. This is terrible.

Pity there are no other solutions for uncapped and static IP. Suppose you just have to take what you get when there are no other choices. *sigh*

Anyone else feeling rate limited?

After I connect and start up a transfer, it'll download at 30+KB/s for a couple of seconds, and then it'll dip to under 3KB/s (pings will also shoot through the roof, and packet loss will increase). Opening multiple threads doesn't help at all.

If I disconnect and reconnect it goes back to normal (for a couple of seconds, after which speeds drop again).

Sigh...

Happened to me earlier today, 400kb/s,then 200kb/s then 50kb/s then 17kb/s. Ended up pausing and resuming every half min :(

Cant believe more people arent complaining...

IS international running oraait again?? (what about news server speeds??)

mine is up, slow though, intl browsing i get alot of timeouts and with download manager only get 16KB on a 512kbit uncapped

Sounds similar to my experiences last night (well I am clueless as to what pings etc mean!!), until I could not log in to my ISP. This was the case this morning.

Thank you Web Africa prepaid as at least I could still get onto the net.

Sometimes I hate the poor service we have to live with:mad:

Is it possible that my local DSLAM is so full that speeds are being affected. As i have 4mbit and cannot stream even an 18second video clip from youtube :(

Sounds like they have caught on that people have found ways of using international bandwidth to pull many gigs.... let the shaping begin!
