load shedding a possibility? the towers are falling back to voice traffic a priority, and data services as a best effort service.

Fixed LTE and "normal" LTE are treated slightly different from the tower -> backhaul, etc.

I have a MTN 3G card and signal goes within 2 hours of load shedding. Vodacom is marginally better as it lasts for 3 hours. Fibre networks have been decent so far. Always lasted even during 4.5 hours of load shedding.

I have had problems with the MTN lte network for the last few years. Bad signal, atrocious speeds to non existent and during load shedding even worse. This also seems to travel with me so I can't even pinpoint it to certain area's. This is also a normal data sim. Out of nowhere you suddenly find fantastic download and upload speeds then a while later you are stuffed again.
