Hi Zertop. Thanks for the reply.

2mb line.

You might really have intense packet loss then, hence it showing 100%. It's possible that the rain last night came into contact with the copper running to your house, hence causing these speeds.

Best advice I can give is to request a port reset from telkom (will not fix anything if it is indeed the rain), otherwise report a fault.

Z

Thanks! I believe that can be the case. Been raining for 2 days here.

Telkom already did a port reset. Nothing changed. Logged a fault last night and this morning it was closed as resolved but with no results.

Visit your local telkom store as opposed to using the hotline. They can often offer better assistance :)

Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 0%.
Your average ping was 45ms.
Your maximum ping was 167ms.

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be a bit dodgy. This may account for any slow speeds you may be experiencing. However, it could just be related to a high-latency home network (eg... Wi-Fi). If you feel the need, please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice!

Ping looks quite high. Is your line showing slowdowns?

It's probably the rain unfortunately. Try chatting to your neighbours to see if they're having similar issues :)

If so, it would be best to report a fault to Telkom. First get them to do a port reset, just in case, though.

Hi Zertop,

Are you going to add speed test functionality again in newer versions? :)

I will try the neighbours but i dont get my hopes tooooo high.

I have logged 3x cases as the first two the closed saying its resolved....sigh

The have done a port reset and made zero difference. I am also thinking about the rain, guess nothing can be done about that??? Why now, its rained plenty before with no issue

Cables sometimes wear thin over time, unfortunately :/ Have you tried a different ISP account to test if that makes any difference? :)

Im currently subscribed to Vox Telecom on their 4mbps uncapped package. Ping was fine until I hit the soft cap (50 GB i think) and then my speed gets halved. I'm fine with having half the speed but my ping shouldn't be affected right?

Im currently subscribed to Vox Telecom on their 4mbps uncapped package. Ping was fine until I hit the soft cap (50 GB i think) and then my speed gets halved. I'm fine with having half the speed but my ping shouldn't be affected right?

Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 0%.
Your average ping was 37ms.
Your maximum ping was 91ms.

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be a bit dodgy. This may account for any slow speeds you may be experiencing. However, it could just be related to a high-latency home network (eg... Wi-Fi). If you feel the need, please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice!

I dont know what to do anymore.

Something is slowing my speed down. I download the same file just moments ago and really could not believe it, it was downloading at 950 odd kb/s

Note before i did the java test about it was a bad speed test like 4.9 and then max the needle was , was at 7.6.
Ping test was good though showing amazingly no jitter and only ping - quality B was given.

I rebooted the modem to run this test but before i did i downloaded a iso out of interest:

IMG-20160922-WA0005.jpg

Then all of a sudden it went back to the mystery speed i have been having since they changed me to a 10 meg line from 4:

IMG-20160922-WA0007.jpg

Its been reported but i might be talking to the wrong technician.
Anoying part is that you report a fault and you are told there is a line noise and then then tell you they will contact you later to tell you what speed you are connected at and tghey ask you to check how fast a website loads.
i mean flip.
The call gets closed and no dam resolution.
I have escalated this so hope something happens because it is ridiculous.

These are my details of my tp-link device page:
I have tested different RJ11 cables and also unplugged the phone and im running nothing else electrical near by.
Not sure what to do and who to talk to .
You either have the right person that will go out of their way to help you or you just struggle.
