Good day,

Has anyone been able to cancel their Openweb ISP account with success ?

Its been almost 6 months now of me sending emails and stating I want to cancel, but nothing happens at the end of the month I still get a debit order for R199.00 from Openweb.

I have tried several times to get through to them and the phone just keeps ringing. If this continues I should probably try to open a case against them as I have repeatedly send them notifications to cancel the service and they keep ignoring me and debiting my account.

R199 is not much, but so far they have cost me more than R1000 and I haven't used them at all!

Personally, I would have gone the legal route at 3 months.

OpwnWeb are crooks. They will get no love here.

I cancelled mine earlier in the year, and didn't have any problems. I also just mailed them. A lot of people complain about them but I have to admit, it was by far the most consistent ADSL experience I had from all the ISPs I have been with.

I cancelled because I got a Telkom bundle for a better price, else I would still use them probably.

Good luck

Go to the police station and lay a claim of theft. Report it to your bank and demand your money back.

Go to the bank and cancel the debit order.

at an additional cost equal to similar as the debit order?

I would send then a legal letter requesting the costs thereof, all debit orders run after the debit should have stopped on first notification, fair interest on said funds.

letter from lawyer requesting money due, failing which small claims court for all costs, and time wasted thus far.

Their CEO would love that.
