Is it possible to run the Nokia PC Suite on Linux?

I would really like to try out Linux but I won't if I cant synchronize my things between my phone and the computer. So is possible to run Nokia's PC Suite on Linux, Ubuntu specifically?

I doubt it, but noting is stopping you from trying?

The problem is that the interface/connection used to sync with Linux (obex amongst other if I'm correct) cannot be emulated by wine. But this is just me thinking aloud.

Install the latest PCsuite in wine and see what you get?

If you want native Linux support the is hugely depends on the phone you have. There is fully functional to data transfer only.

I use the a Nokia N73 ME, and I sync fine with Ubuntu, using OpenSyncML, and a few other plugins. You don't have a GUI that's quite as pretty as PCSuite, but it works perfectly fine. I can use the cable, or bluetooth. Haven't tried any other mechanism.

There's enough HOWTO's out there to get you off the ground. I haven't tried gnokii, so I can't comment on it' effectiveness.

Wammu, Gammu and Gnokii, usually do not work well with new Nokia phones. They work nicely with old models (http://wiki.gnokii.org/index.php/Config). I will put together tutorial about syncing Nokia N81 on Ubuntu 8.04 and post info on this forum when it is ready, in week or so.
