HiWhat is the modem speed you get with the 10gig package and the 60+60 package
If you have 8ta coverage then it is definately worth getting without a doubt, unless you like being ripped off by Vodacom and MTN.
I disagree, I'm in a full coverage area and I've had nothing but issues with 8ta, my speeds had improved for a short while and have now degraded again, I've tried to cancel my contract and I was asked to pay all the remaining payments and a cancellation fee (i.e. more than is actually owed on the contract) despite that initially on their website as well as on this very forum they claimed that there would only be an R800 cancellation fee and no other clawbacks.
I say it isn't worth it, yes it is R200 for 10 gigs, but 10 unuseable gigs are worth nothing.
I don't want to waste my time mailing [email protected] anymore; I want my money back.
Hi there
Can we try to resolve this one more time? The last query was closed and it was confirmed on 30/01/2012 that you were happy with the service. If you are still unhappy with the service, we will process this cancellation with no cancellation fees.
We just need you to complete the template and PM us. We will start the process.

Thanks for the reply. Apologies for my rant it is just that my experience with 8ta connectivity has been extemely incosistent. It was fine for a while, then I was struggling again:
Test Date: Jun 5, 2012 8:23 PM
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Rosebank
Download: 0.28 Mbps
Upload: 0.01 Mbps
Ping: 306 ms
External IP: 41.151.78.217
Internal IP: 192.168.1.101
and
Test Date: Jun 4, 2012 6:25 PM
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Rosebank
Download: 0.19 Mbps
Upload: 0.08 Mbps
Ping: 167 ms
External IP: 41.151.78.6
Internal IP: 192.168.1.101
Notice the extremely poor upload speed in the first test? Dropbox for example wanted 5 hours to upload a few photos (and not extremely large files), the ping also fluctuates a lot. E-mails would fail
Other times though it seems fine and I get the following:
Test Date: Jun 21, 2012 8:54 PM
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Rosebank
Download: 1.72 Mbps
Upload: 0.04 Mbps
Ping: 118 ms
External IP: 41.151.236.239
Internal IP: 192.168.1.102
The upload still seems very low and the download is much much better.
Today I get:
Test Date: Jul 4, 2012 3:47 PM
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Rosebank
Download: 3.18 Mbps
Upload: 1.80 Mbps
Ping: 96 ms
External IP: 41.151.98.126
Internal IP: 192.168.1.100
which would make me extremely happy if it stayed this way!!!
I would of course rather not cancel, it's just that my connection is way to inconsistent. I'll continue to monitor and then PM if it deteriorates again.
