capped on OpenWeb 30 gig account

haha, watch them get capped for their advertising of overuse :)

so howcome there are people at OpenWeb that's got a 30Gb account, and manages to download more than double that, but I, also on a 30Gb account, get capped at 32Gb...and then I know of people that's got a normal 30Gb local OpenWeb account that doesn't even bother with local torrent sites and the newsservers, because ALL his downloads come from international sites at full speed, which is of course a 4mb line...

I just think it's totally unfair how some people can get away with this, but then I get capped and I have to purchase additional bandwidth!!!!

If we're paying for the same service and the same bandwidth, then I also want what other people is getting, OR OpenWeb and the other ISP's must cap everyone at the designated limit. You can't expect 2 people to pay the same money for the same account, the one guy can download way beyond the limits of his account, but when the other dude goes over it, he has to pay...

and YES I am a sour apple because I got capped and had to actually pay for additional bandwidth there are clearly many other individuals who doesn't have to pay!!!

Let's use an ESKOM analogy.

Why does everyone have to pay for electricity and everyone needs it just like the person next to him. But then Eskom starts with load shedding. You can't expect 2 people paying for electricity, but not getting the same amount.
So rather cut off the whole SA because this is quite unfair.

1) No one said you should buy more GIGS.
2) Should everyone stop at 30GIGS, even if they are not capped.
3) And now on the honesty line (by giving to all the same), you shouldn't even touch 30GIG if you are a lawfull citizen.

The resller (Openweb/WA etc) does not do the capping it is IS who is reponsible for that part

I was referring to pay for what you use...if ADSL is down in general then so be it...but if you go into a shop and take 2 apples and pay R5 for them, wouldn't you be suspicious if the guy next to you took 10 apples and also just paid R5...would you or would you not ask the teller what's going on...

uhhmmm have you heard of game demos...have you heard of freeware...have you heard of the amount of bandwidth playing games like BF2 and BF2142 takes???...add all of that together and then you'll see...

I'm not sure I agree with you completely, although it does make sense a bit I think. If you get capped then your payment for additional bandwidth goes to your ISP, not SAIX or IS...therefor the capping must be done at the ISP?

That's the excuse everyone uses. I'm not asking what you are using, I know. User 1606 or is it 823? :p

The point is, there is no way you can complain because you got what you paid for. If you only got 25 GIGS and got capped I would be behind you.

Why not just take 10 apples to start with.

You'll see next month you won't be capped and you'll look at this in a different way. Only a few more days. :p

Look I wasn't attacking anybody, but surely you can understand a person being upset if it is common knowledge that other people is getting stuff for free and you're not...so yeah hopefully next month maybe I'll also get "free bandwidth"

I think the biggest problem is the low cap limits!!!
 
We must learn to be satisfied....see what greed and jealous did to this country...

Be at peace bro, i'm only on 23gigs this month and its almost end of the month...though its on a 10gig local account :p
 
Well, lets face it, we have to be great full for what we have. (im sounding like a parent i know) BUT, that doesn't mean we cant have something more, just because some people don't have a computer. Anyway, my point is, if i normally get 140gb, and then i get 32, something must be up, right? Just because im not paying for 140, doesn't mean i cant why i don't normally get it?
 
Well think of it this way, a couple of homeless ppl, rests in the corner of ur plot/property. U think shame, let them spend the night coz its winter, dont want them to freeze to death...

Eventually winter passes, they start "colonizing" and u think ok no more, get them out of here and u chase them off.

Then they start criticizing on what a **** u are and heartless and start causing problems. While u regretting about letting them stay for being kind, they're thinking u're stingy, cause u did let them stay for a whole winter, why not more?

Learn to be greatful, the world will be a much better place
