Hi,

Anyone also having problems with the IS news server. It seems to have been down for me since last night?

I'm going to be positive for a change and say they are improving the retention to 30 days. :D

@jak3

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Thats way more than positive, would be nice tho!

I don't know much about what you ppl are talking about but this IS thing sounds really ***. :D

Always see it on here.

Less than likely. Easynews outages are few and far between but then you get what you pay for I suppose.

On a positive note, i have noticed what seems to be a slight increase in uncached speeds over the last 4 days or so. Before that, it seems to be dipping to well below 10Kbps, averaging around 6-8Kbps.

I seem to be sitting at around 10-12Kbps at the moment.

I'm sure IS realize anything below 10 is simply not acceptable.

From a purely economic standpoint, what would be the logic behind not increasing the retention to around a week or 2? Surely it would lower the international bandwidth usage by lowering the constant need to re cache stuff.

What are your thoughts?

Couldn't agree more, it just doesn't make any sense.

Yep. I sure would hope they get it all fixed up..
Quite honestly id rather have faster speeds than more retention at this stage.

i could access earlier on. Now it seems it has kicked the proverbial bucket

can ne one confirm if they having problems accessing the IS news server?

Keep talking about it. Then don't complain when you can't access it.

It's been said many times before, there is a forum dedicated to these discussions. Bringing attention to the thing on a large forum such as this attracts thousands of noobs to sign up, reducing speeds for existing users.
