IS News server issue?

yeah ... news is down .... wonder if IS is stopping its news servers on purpose?? with no one leeching/using them .... could save them on upgrading capacity .... but then ... they become almost useless to the average adsl user .... so hopefully they not doing that ...
anyone with a clue as to the probs with the news servers???
 
Why the %^&* don't they just charge for the $%^&*&^ server man!

This is the most frustrating thing: IS's absolute refusal to comment on the NS situation (either to the end-users, or, it seems, the resellers).
 
Bye bye IS local account. I cancelled it five minutes ago.

Welll i know you say i was once a noob or whatever you wanna call it, but i still managed to fing out abt the server and all that with the forums...

I think if you have the savvy to find out then you should be able to use it :)
 
GRRRRR!!!!!!
I was d/l at 39kb and had less than 2 hours until my downloads were complete.
Schoolboy error from me = REBOOTED THE COMPUTER to speed up my other programs!
Now I can't reconnect!!!
Damn you 512mb Memory! Damn you to hell! :(
 
already canceleed two acc's :)

ill order them again if it works again..

Do you really think IS could be bothered with home users??

Thats not where they make their money!
Hence they dont really care.... if everyone used 'mass action' to stop buying home accounts, IS wouldnt blink.

Its services are business related...
And their profits are business related...

ie. If IS officials were reading about people mentioning that they will cancel their local accounts, they will just laugh

Exactly. Pity that some people post crap thinking that they actually know how things work.

Go ahead all of you, stop making empty threats and go through with it and cancel your accounts. Let's see if that accomplishes anything. IS might even encourage it because it'll reduce the strain on their network that affects every other service as well.

Its proper business is Business Clients...

Nowhere in its business model would they be obliged to have a news server...
It was probably set up as small facility as a prototype or something (its the only reason why I can think they stopped upgrading the server)

Business sense is too shut it down, as its probably causing more headaches having this server running.
