I need some advice on how to setup Grabit properly using IS news server. I have a 384kb connection with a local IS account. My downloads dont seem to be as fast as it can be at +-20kb. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong? Im still a bit of a n00b with the IS news server. Any help would be appreciated.

yeah, 15kb-30kb per sec is normal for IS news. Unless the specific files u want is already cached on the server. Then u might see around 150-350kb per sec if your on 4mbit ADSL.

mostly mainstream stuff will be cached. like a specific tv-episode that almost everyone gets. or maybe a game etc..etc

yeah speeds depend if its cached or not........

just make sure your using news.is.co.za and set connections to 4.

Mine is on 5 connections, getting about 18-22kb/s on uncached content at the moment...

I get 12 to 18KB/s on uncached stuff, with cached content I get around 39KB/s

Been using Grabit and IS news server.

Downloaded a movie last night with grabit, all looked fine and articles where found etc.

This morning the folder where the multiple rar files should reside , all files are named (null)1111222233333 etc

Rather use altbinz @ http://www.altbinz.net/

Grabit while it looks better ect, has strange issues at times.
