See - its reports like these that keep me from making the switch to IS for their news groups in lieu of a paid server.

I'm with you. From my attempts to use it, the IS news server is overrated - endless "service discontinued" errors, and virtually useless during weekday daylight.

It's been up and down for the past 24hours. And the speed sucks.

problem is paid servers are all overseas so you can't really use your 30G local :(

Dudes, Sometimes I have NO problems with the IS NewsServer for weeks at a time, then it might be "weird" for a few days...

It does not really worry me, cause I know that I will still be able to use up my 30GB in the month!!!

I am just telling you what I feel.

However, I would like it if their service levels improved.... Don't get me wrong.

Hmm, I've only really had trouble with the IS news server once or twice (for very short periods of time)....

The speeds were perfect today, now suddenly this....

WHAT ?! EVERY DAY for me ... 8:30 pm onwards till about 7:00am the bandwidth is terrible, dropping threads, sudden bursts of speed followed by wonderful periods of nothing, not a dribble of bandwidth ...

Got on now and saw my threads failing and instantly thought "must be around 8:30pm", and lo and behold I was right !

No mine is back to normal now, I've been download about 5gig and it's about half way now. Started Tuesday Morning about (1am ish)...
So I couldn't have had many slowdowns....

But thats why I said switch to. I dont have to worry about international at the moment but that privilege comes at a price.
