IS news server

yeah, the news server is poor at times, but I still manage 60GB or so a month, so not complaining too much (on 384DSL).

For the first time this year I'm struggling to find decent content - damn US summer vacation!

lol - that is a problem, after you have the last 10 seasons of all the good TV shows (erm, linux distros), there is not much to do - the midnightmovies binary group has some old stuff worth a go.

Its a great service. Do a search and you will find all the links including how to use it.

The news server seems to be down right now for me. Even the telnet news.is.co.za 119 fails.

Any one else got this this morning. I ve had problems since last night.
 
After 30 gigs on IS are people definetly capped or do they let you go for a few more gigs?
 
Not in my experience. It crawls now and again but not for such a long peroid of time. When I woke up this morning it was at 1 Kb/s :mad:

To be fair, I have not used it for a few days (sitting on 29GB usage :( ).
Anyways, I find that speeds @ night are poor for some parts, and I get broken downloads - so, in the morning I will have 10-20 posts I need to "retry".
 
Ah OK then I will not complain seeing as how Im on my 3rd 30 GIG account for the month :p
