No, keep the names. Let the people whose names are on the streets and towns roll in their grave when they find out Mazibuko is taking a dump in a toilet in a double story house on Verwoerd street.

Renaming is important but not at this time of high unemployment, high poverty, high corruption, high all the bad stuff...

This question hinges entirely on what the purpose of the renaming is

CAPE TOWN - The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality on Wednesday announced that it planned to establish a multi-sectoral committee to appeal against the renaming of Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage.

That will apply to people who grew up with the language/languages.... it doesn't apply universally.
Try getting tourists to say these new eords that have to be said with a click on your tongue.....and cant that millions of rands used to change names be put to use for something much better...upgrading hospital..... schools, fighting unemployment....instead of changing names and giving tenders and pocketing millions?

Honestly the tourist argument does not hold any water.

According to our esteemed ANC politicians, neither do the bloated bellies of malnourished children but hey, at least they can die of starvation with their dignity intact right?

This is what I wrote, nothing more; certainly nothing refuting the other things the gentleman/lady wrote about.

Keep your undies on.

...the new name apparently has no meaning and no relevance or meaning has been provided to us.
