Is Renault Captur worth buying?

I had to come back and update on myBB. 7 months later and my wife's Captur left us stranded outside my kids school. Blown turbo at 29 000km. I just kept quiet and let her come to the conclusion that "I told her so". She is hellbent on getting rid of the car now.

And here was I thinking turbos have become more reliable.
 
New turbo and smaller parts ordered. Picking up a courtesy car today.

I must say that Renault Umhlanga have been a joy to deal with for this warranty claim. I've been called with updates for every event. And they arranged the courtesy car hire without me even asking about it.

In other words, have you considered buying a cheap Chinese made SUV with an old tech engine and gearbox which just loves a visit to the petrol station?

There is nothing wrong with that particular Renault. Stay away from the Renaults (and Hondas) made in India and you should be fine.
