This is really weird I've switched back to TI and all seems good but the MyBB speedtest pings CTown @ 850ms, Int @ 1100ms, J'Burg @ 75ms

Correct. Reboot router until you get a "normal" IP address.

How would I determine if my IP is in the problematic range?
The range you mentioned doesn't appear in the trace I performed or on my router.

That is weird, my router obtains the DNS automatically and it is currently using 196.43.54.190 (Durban) and 196.43.38.190 (Rosebank).

I’m uncertain if I should I leave or change it to Cape Town based on your comment and that of ponder.

Wouldn't 8.8.8.8 or one of the other DNS services be a temporary solution?

If anyone is interested telkom uncapped 2mb vs afrihost uncapped 4mb. Telkom has been faster and more stable than the afrihost account.
