Hi guys

We have been trying for the last two years to get a Adsl line at our home in Queensburgh ... Every time we phone they tell us no ports are available .. Now on Saturday determined to find out wtf happening I drove around until I found a Technician that told us there are ports available but he can't do anything about it until Telkom sent him to my house now wtf must I do . I have been emailing and complaining and phoning but no one got answers ...Someone please help me ...Or any Advice

Thanks Guys

The network is not as well organised as you'd expect. The technician may have been working on a completely different exchange. The closest exchange is by no means always the one which runs to your house. Your exchange could very likely have no ports. It can also be a system bug on their side. Tell them to send a technician anyway.

I tried getting a Technician to our house ...it's not easy when you deal with Telkom ..

my experience so far - call center really doesn't know.
I was told for 2 years that exchange is full. Until i went through a tecnician/telkomZa - all of a sudden there was ports open. I even discovered afterwards that my neighbor installed an ADSL line a few months before me.

i could be that Telkom's back=order system is not linked - eg when a port opens it doesnt properly assign the line to the next longest waiting customer.

Just shows you how telkom is lol

True..My point is if there is so much demand for adsl in a area ...why don't they upgrade there exchange ? surely they will make there money back ?

Why dont i have fibre yet?surely they'll get their money back?

They rather invest in places were they can triple the money in a month back

iirc that type of function (updating network records and data cleansing) was performed by contract workers and all the contracts were terminated by the end of March 2015. Close to 15% of Telkom's workforce then opted for voluntary packages after that...

So the question is, "who is now doing that work?". Seems as if nobody is doing it!!

Offices?

If you are referring to the Telkom Direct Shops, then they never did know anything. They are a sales channel and have nothing to do with Telkom Wholesale, where the problems lie.

i mean at there head office lol

You mean regional offices in the main centres, as nobody works in their head office anyway...

The biggest problem will be at their NNOC, the supposed heartbeat of their organisation. The skills and knowledge levels there are atrocious and is the cause for most of the pain us Telkom customer have to bear.
