Is the booking.com app compromised?

I recently made a accommodation booking using the booking.com app and all seemed fine as I received correspondence from the hotel with details of my booking.
Few days later I started getting messages in their app requesting me click on a link to verify my booking (which I didn't as I know better) and then started getting messages to do the same thing in different languages which I am just ignoring but I contacted the hotel directly not via the app just to ensure I do have a booking and they confirmed it.
I have notified booking.com Customer Service about this and they haven't responded to me as yet but has anyone else experienced this before?
Its like scammers have access to their messaging portal.
 
Yes. They’ve had a data breach. Probably over a year ago now.

Yes, they have been compromised for some time now. The same as the Buffalo Courier issue...

 
Good grief so they’ve done nothing to rectify it except a small warning at the bottom of the messaging section that says do not click on any links?
