Is there a trip switch which will switch off after mains failure?

Is there a breaker which can be inserted into a DB such that when mains power fails it will require manual reset?

Alternatively the trip will reset itself for a delay after power has been restored.

Preferably the breaker refered to will act as an earth leakage breaker as well.

A relay won't be able to carry the loads across their contacts - the contacts would burn.

A 63A contactor, and an delay-on timer would do most of what you require (i.e. switch off when supply fails, and then switch on a little bit after the supply returns).

E/L is a E/L is a E/L - it's something unique, and you can't get the functionality of a E/L in any other device but an E/L.

You wont get a combined contactor and earth leakage. However you can leave your normal earth leakage after the delay time relay and contactor.

Thanks guys. Just to make sure that I'm not missing something - If a switch was placed upstream of the EL such that no current was passed to the EL, could this switch be such that it turned off when mains failed and thereafter require manual resetting? The EL should not be affected by this scenario and the added switch would be the same, or larger, rating than the EL.

There is a way you can wire a contactor to engage with a push of a button when you leave button contactor will stay engaged but disconect when power fail.
A high current contactor will be expensive tho
Not sure if it will be up to code

You get DIN surge protectors that fit in your DB if thats what you are after.

Eg most fridge motors have a hard time restarting under pressure
