Is there collusion with the network providers?

Hi all,
Can someone answer this question? Today I asked our Independent cellular service provider to cancel say 40 data contracts from cellular provider A that had expired; and then informed them that I will be taking new contracts out with provider B. I soon got a call from my Accounts manager to inform me that I have to migrate these contracts and not cancel and get new contracts. I was then informed that this was an agreement that was setup with the service providers that you cannot cancel a contract and re-apply for a different contract even if the contract has expired. This “deal” was setup by the providers (A,B AND C) To stop people doing this.

Now if I think about it this amounts to collusion and our company has a zero policy to any form of corruption.

Btw the reason for going this route is we do not know if these 40 accounts are even being used by the correct people so an email will be sent out to them asking them to send a new REG for a new contract and only those who reply will get the new contracts.
Would like to know if this is indeed true or is my AC just trying to pull a fast one to say get the “migration” incentive from provider B?

I think you need a new independent cellular service too.

EDIT: Just think about it, why on earth would you not be able to to do that? The only reason they do not want you to do that, is because currently you are paying for more than you need, and they know it. If you suddenly only pay for what you use, they make much less money.

Tell them you are going to cancel and reapply only for what you need, and if they dont like it, you will go elsewhere. You are a big enough customer to have a lot of clout here.

There is collusion sure (termination rates anyone?), but not what he is talking about.

Heck, I'm sommer so worked up I want to give him a call and trap him out.

Yep, definetly collusion! I have often cancelled with one, only to suddenly "receive a courtesy call" from another punting their contract flavor!

Tell them to go f themselves. Its a legal contract which you can cancel via normal means (sticking to the cancellation clauses in said contract of course).

Just tell him you want to see where you signed agreeing to this BS policy. What the 3 providers signed among themselves is not your problem.

He is lying. There is a middle man outside of the company who was arranging these contracts and get benefits back from the service provider. He wants migration, which would allow him to obtain similiar agreement with other service provider.

So I bet, there is no collusion, but every call to your ISP about canceling your contracts goes back to the middle man, and then to your account officer. Of course such agreements are not binding your company, unless it had been signed by the company representative.
