I recently posted about wanting a multifunction laser printer. I've now decided to look for one less complicated or pricey.

Came across this :

http://www.samsung.com/za/consumer/...ls-printer&type=printers&subtype=colour-laser

Do you think it's a good buy? And can I use it with a laptop, it says something about being wireless?

I see Makro has it for R1699, which is much cheaper than all the stores online.

Please advise, I'm in desperate need of a decent laser printer!

Many many thanks!

I have samsungs cause they cheap, but sadly when the ink runs out, it works out cheaper to buy a new one than to get a cartridge, so currently i have 3 of them, 2 without ink

I feel so guilty about the carbon footprint......

?

The cartridges that come with the printer have like 1/4 toner so buying a new printer every time actually not the greatest idea..

Are Samsung cartridges that expensive? I had no idea.

samsung toners are expensive & not all new the toners can be remanufactured yet....

For long term cheaper see what HP & Samsung toners are avail as reman/generic in your area then buy a printer that can take that.

Lol, New printers only come with sample cartridges, so they're 3/4 empty.
So yea the printer costs R1700 and the cartridges cost about 850 each to replace, but you're screwing yourself buying a new printer every time because all the toner in there is not more than 1 cartridge worth :D

@OP, its a good deal, go for it. Samsungs have some of the lower cost per page printing for that price range.
And DON'T buy the cartridges from Makro, their prices are high on that. Shop around for them. My mono Samsung's cartridge is 1090 from Makro, and I buy it from a place in Benoni for less than R800.

Thanks a mil for the responses! I popped into Makro today and the wireless one is actually R1999. I'm thinking of just going for it, will check toner costs first though.
