Hell yes. It took them just under 1 month to install my line. 2 days after that all adsl was down due to the exange went down. Another 4 days. But atleast telkom phoned me to appologize. Thats a plus point I suppose.

You must stay in a very small town where Telkom employees are bored !
Cresta = Joburg.... so not so small
I ordered mine on Friday at about 5pm at the cresta store too...
Is their anyway to tell if the ADSL has been activated without having to wait for their phone call and without having an ADSL modem?
I am in Weltevreden Park. I see there was a sticker on the wall socket from the previous owner that they had ADSL, but I transferred my old number. Maybe the circuit was disconnected but never re-allocated. Just lucky I guess.... now if their service was this good all the time.

Plug in a modem and check if the sync light connects. You won't be able to surf until the line is verified.
