I came across this randomly on Gumtree and it seems quite an interesting way to earn extra money, especially for me as a student. It's a work from home application processing job, but they want R150 to register. I immediately thought scam but there is the off chance that it is legit right?

this is the website the ad directs you to: http://www.wix.com/earnfromhomedaleen/earn-from-home#!
and this is the actual ad on Gumtree: http://capetown.gumtree.co.za/c-Jobs-general-jobs-Earn-from-Home-W0QQAdIdZ307859801

Anybody know if these people are legit, or would I just be throwing away R150 applying?

Rather give the R150,00 to me. To be honest those are all scams

Its easy. What you get when you register is info on how to set yourself up to get other people to register, in which case you market them details on how to register and when they do, send them details of how to get other people to register.

thus... its a registration ponzi.

:D

What I thought :( oh well, the life of student poverty continues

Or they use you as a mule to withdraw cash from cloned credit cards.

Think of it this way. They want you to work for them. That means they will pay you. So why do they need an upfront payment from you when they can take it from your first paycheck?

When you need to pay them, SCAM.

There is an advert on gumtree about business in a box. The box is sealed and worth about R1000. I am not sure what the advert says anymore and I think the guy wants to swop it for something but I wondered yesterday if business in a box is not just a Yellow Pages and telephone directory.

Anything that sounds too good to be true is not worth looking at.
No one gives away opportunities anymore where they could have profited from.

There's alot that say "typing" or "data capturing"

What they mean is "typing"/"data capturing" an ad onto classifieds to get people to pay you R150 to do the same thing, the AD itself is the business.

PM me for my bank details if you still want to blow R150

Yes, it is a scam... they will send you a photocopied set of instructions on how to scam other people doing exactly what they just did to you.
I know this because I have a friend who (against my advice) signed up for it. She now has a lot more faith in my advice.
