lol I am actually fortunate enough to have driven some really nice cars in my life... I am not really a car person though, but yes I will be picking up PGR4

In General BMW's are OK cars, however German Cars built in uitenhage... umm not so German after all, and the unfortunately tend to attract a very "special" type of person.

So as much as I like some BMW models, You will never see me drive one. I'll stick to my German car that was actually made *in* Germany.

What special type of person and which models are made in Uitenhage?

I also heard that some VW engines are made in Brazil, does that also mean VW's are not German either?

And why are the Germans so damn good at making cars?

Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche... did I miss one?

Germans are good at engineering (and making cars) because they seem to have an aptitude towards it, the attitude of the average German factory worker is also vastly different to that of the average African (and I don't mean black) factory worker. Most Germans tend to have perfectionist, no nonsense attitudes and take pride in their work whilst most African (still don't mean black) factory workers tend to take an almost is good enough attitude.

so when a car is built in a factory in South Africa even if it's German designed, it's still made in Africa, just like you would not accept a Replacement part made in china as an original you should not accept an entire car made in Africa as.. well an original.

with special I mean the type who believe using your indicator gives away your plan, who thinks the rules at a traffic circle is BMW's first then everyone else, the type of person who will park in a handicapped zone because he can't see anyone with a wheelchair around who needs it right now, do I have to go on.

Yes Germans make good cars, no VW's made in S.A or engines made in Brazil are as German as VW's built in Korea and Engine parts made in China.

If I'm going to pay for an imported German engineered vehicle, then the least I want is an imported German engineered vehicle, not just the price of an import for a German Designed, local engineered no import cost vehicle.
 
onlyme, strange then that BMW would entrust the Africans with the making of their 3 series worldwide.
