Ok this is a little complicated but I'll try explain best I can!

  • I have an MWEB email account
  • I need to connect to it from other devices INCLUDING the main home PC
  • Therefore setup pop from Gmail to get all email into Gmail account and sync devices using imap, while letting Outlook on home PC continue to download from MWEB pop server (leaving email copies behind obviously)
  • Also setup option to send from Gmail using my MWEB address and NOT my Gmail address (in Gmail)
  • Problem: This sending option only works if using Gmail online...
  • If I send or reply to messages using my iPhone, it still sends from my Gmail address and not my MWEB one.
  • I couldn't seem to find any setting on the iPhone to make it default to the MWEB address, and clearly when using a device other than the Gmail web client, it doesn't apply that option!
  • Does anyone know any way I could get around that or maybe have a better suggestion on how to deal with email to multiple devices while still wanting to keep the home PC the main email communicator? (Yes, I know I could just use Gmail, but the MWEB address is well-known and it would be a mission to make a complete change to Gmail)

Hope the bullet list makes it shorter and easier! I'd appreciate any help..

Why not use the native mail app for the mweb and the gmail app for gmail?
