Hi V3G,

This is what I want to do:-

I am upgrading my 1GB VC data contract next week to the Dell laptop deal so I will be able to connect without a datacard because of the embedded module.

What I want to know is... can I leave my current datacard connected at home and get a "Data Sim" to go in the laptop and have both connected at the same time?

The reason I'm asking this is because I was 'told' that the Data Sim offer is only available if you have a voice contract. The VC website states that data sim is for multiple devices and doesn't say anything about having to be on a voice contract. Link

So basically i want 2 sims connected at the same time using the same bundle, if that's possible.

Thanks :)

AFAIK they still come with the 1.8mbps embedded module. I will try to find out more...

EDIT: I'm getting mine next week and it'll be new stock so I'll check there aswell. The module can be unplugged and swopped out so I'm not fussed. I'll just buy the upgraded one and plug it in when it's available.

Yes, the Data Sim products was meant for someone who has a phone for voice, a data card and even a Blackberry. So the starting point is a voice contract.

I assume you're at the end of your current data contract? I think you must do some clever 'contract management'........;)

(PM me a contact number if you can't figure it out.....)

MrG: I have nothing :(

(lol, sorry for the useless comment) :)
