imo, Altech had the right idea of supplying a device along with their service offered. The device though, was way too expensive and overkill for the target market. Result: DOA
Simply having an internet connection and an HD tv doesn't mean plug 'n play for the user when they subscribe to these services. Not many have a suitable smart TV of a certain age that complies either. I personally feel that these VOD services should offer (through an ISP) a service whereby by you get a simple-to-use device (little Roku type set top box?) with zero-rated data on their VOD services (through said ISP) and all this built into one small monthly fee. An approach like this would reach far more homes imo.
