I hope you're all doing well. I had a recent unpleasant experience with Mweb, and I wanted to see if anyone else here has encountered something similar.
Last month, I decided to downgrade my Mweb service to save some money. The downgrade was successfully processed at the beginning of this month (their own fault, I requested the downgrade the month prior because I didn't want it to go into the new billing period), and my bill was supposed to reflect the new reduced amount (from R1189 to R599). However, to my surprise, Mweb is now demanding that I pay the old amount for this month, and on top of that, they're adding a pro rata fee for the downgraded service! So they want me to pay the old amount + the pro rata amount. This just doesn't make any sense to me, and it feels like they're taking advantage of me. I hate complaining out in public, and I requested them to resolve this in two different tickets, to which they say that it's normal.
Has anyone else experienced such unfair billing practices from Mweb before? Is this normal? It's frustrating and disappointing to be treated this way after being a loyal customer. I believe customers should be charged accordingly for the services they actually use.
