<br />I don't think of The Rodent as an activist. Considering the bad response the CUG got from posters here

Well, keep in mind the CUG only got such a "bad response" here because many users believed they were making a strategic mistake trusting Sentech, and in fact those users turned out to be right. But the CUG effectively said "screw you you guys are just troublemakers" to those who contended that they were wrong to trust Sentech, and even started deleting posts on the forum that disagreed with them. Then they said "we're a private group so we're going to do whatever we want and we're not even going to discuss it with any of you anymore", then they buggered off from the forum ("for now", we hear) ... so quite frankly, you can't blame anyone for having a negative response to the CUG. Whether they liked it or not, organizationally they HAD (de facto) placed themselves in the position of being "leaders" of the consumer activism against Sentech, with the rest of us behind them, and that does bear some responsibility, but they suddenly decided "we don't represent you" and left, effectively throwing into chaos the very consumer activism 'group' that they created. Kind of like when Portugal pulled out of Mozambique, only probably less important in the grand scheme of things
Anyway, I'm not slamming the CUG, I'm just stating what happened. I *hope* that the CUG are still working on this issue, but we keep hearing how "busy they are" and that they "don't have time" and have "more important things to do". If they've given up on this, or simply don't have time for it, they at least owe it to us to *let us know* so that we can find new people to organize a "keep-Sentech-in-check" strategy. It could be that we're all sitting around waiting for them to do something while actually maybe nothing is going to happen.
Rodent is *definitely* an activist by the way. From what he has done so far, and still maintaining poopband.co.za, there is no question, he fits the definition to a tee. Maybe he didn't think of it as activism going in, but it is now, and that's the proverbial 'path he has chosen'.
