Ok whoever did something at IS, dont change it!

Browsing responce is awesome today, almost like its on fiber...

Anyone else notice or maybe alot of noise on my line went away :P

Same here in Cape Town.

International is flying like never seen before. Maybe the added more international bandwidth.

lol not the same for me... ive been on TelkomInternet the entire day. I.S has been dead for the first time ive had it. Its been flying the entire month besides today and yesterday.

To Openweb or not to Openweb

I saw many comments about IS being really quick and how we should all wait until all the corporates are back at work and souring the experience for the rest of us. Well, I'm back at work and thinking that most of SA is back at work by now so... what's the verdict?

IS still quick?

Reason I'm asking is because I'm deciding which ISP I should go for should my DSL be installed in a reasonable amount of time. I see Openweb is pretty popular around here but I've used TelkomInternet elsewhere and have enjoyed their soft-capping and relatively low costs. There is some moral agent in me that is trying its hardest to find something better than TI, though :p

My IS speed died badly two days ago... seems better today, but still not what it was 1 Jan till 7 Janish

SAIX is slooow today . I am getting 18.6 kbps from adsl speed test LOCAL. Only 0.9 KB from Telkom FTP Test

mine is still good tonight, noticed big improvement as i said last night but im convinced telkom fixed something :P

Download speed is slightly better, what i did notice is the reponce time, like loading a page with lots of small images goes alot faster now...

Swallowed your happy pills i see! or have your supply of KY arrived just in-time for yet another round?

;) You REALLY can't go wrong with Openweb!!! - Best decision i've EVER made

Welcome to the Forum :D

Found IS pretty good as well (through Openweb)

My only problem is now my OpenWeb account doesnt want to authenticate

Use a paid news server - it's worth it. :)

Is there a local "paid news server" cause DAMN IS News server is slow. Downloading at 11 - 18Kb/s on my 4Mb line...it's ridiculous.

I'd be willing to pay if there is a local site which can give me decent speeds??? know of any???
