IS Upgrades Link

Just a quick infobyte....

If you experienced some bad IS speeds today, it was because they upgraded their link between Telkom and their ADSL backbone.

IS Engineers assure me that by tomorrow morning, the improved speed will be noticed, and all services will be restored.

Ahh - the peering link debacle between IS and SAIX.

What happend. Did SAIX lose the court case. Or did IS crack under the pressure.

It is the link that connects the ADSL network, to the IS network. Its on the ADSL side of the IS network.

Is it only me or is the IS speeds worse today?

Local and international is crawling. Some websites fail to load and times out. And I thought it was going to be better today...

I highly doubt its IS related, more area related.

Telkom is still having major problems with various areas adsl connectivity, unrelated to any ISP you may be using.
