They are all almost the same, rubbish!

I took Matrix because the insurance recommended them. I can tell you now that they are horrible as well. As a matter of fact, my contract with them has expired and they keep calling wanting me to sign a new one, I am looking around for a better devil. I am currently on month-to-month with them.

I also know that they are scums when it comes to cancelling, they will keep deducting even after sending you proof of cancellation.

I see Cartrack seems to have okay-ish reviews, though, a friend of mine is not happy with them.
 
Why does everyone assume it's for the car's benefit, what about the occupants? I also don't want my banged up car back..

My insurance does not require one, so it's for my personal benefit i.e. if car gets hijacked with occupants inside.

It's R120/month/car, and I can track the vehicles online, we live in South Africa after all.

Hijackers generally eject everyone from the car before they take it. Why would they want the hassle of hostages on top of stealing a car that they really just want to sell as soon as they can?

Too many scary scenarios still. They hijack you with the car to make sure you don't alert your tracking company. They have devices to disable the tracker. God forbid, they shoot while hijacking you.

It is just the luck of the draw.

Yeah, I prefer to not work with assumptions.

Have a look at how many hijacking/kidnappings are occurring these days with the intention to extort money from the occupants.

The tracker is just another tool that may or may not assist you in tracking down your loved ones, or vice versa

No. Hilariously, for me, King Price without a tracker is cheaper than King Price plus a tracker less the tracker discount.

Same. I don't want my vehicle back if it's stolen - they can keep it.
 
Yeah, I think 99 percent of us don't want our cars back after hijacking, unless it is in the exact condition it was taken.

Even then, trauma may result when you see it or drive it.

Subaru has no tracker. Tesla IS a tracker.
 
Next he will ask ask what vehicle we are driving.
Next all the rangers and poles will be jacked.
Next there will be an artice warning of increased hijackings in certain areas.

Criminals just jam the tracker either way, Besides why would you want to be tracked by rotten employees who sell your information and whereabouts to criminals? There is literally no need for a tracker unless you use it for fleet services. But for personal use its useless.
 
I almost had tracking on my new car after the finance guy at tried to add 36 months of tracking into the deal (paid upfront and financed with the car).

I told them to redo the finance and I threatened to walk away from the deal if thy pulled another stunt like that. The Finance guy had to remove the tracking, scratch and dent insurance, some special coating on the windscreen and an extended warranty.
