I've been to Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Egypt and Qatar.
Israel is incredibly easy going for everyone, regardless of religion, colour, sexual orientation, whatever. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the others listed. It's basically their way or gtfo. I never once felt comfortable in Saudi, it is a scary place and you know from the outset that you are an outsider and must follow their rules. The others are more relaxed, but still there are limits and they are pretty rigid on for example living with a partner out of wedlock, ladies dressing modestly etc.

Yup I have been to Israel and it's an amazing place that I felt safe besides from the terrorist threat but it was not as bad when I went.
Amazing how the Muslims and anti Semites have so much to say about a small little country yet they are actually the ones that are the problem.

So, while over 70% of Israelis are Jews, less than 60% of them are religious? Looks like being religious and being jewish don't have much in common, and instead the most important factor being jewish is associated with race (mother must be jewish apparently, jews identify as non-white semites etc.). But Israel is a jewish state, repeatedly being stated by Israelis. So this implies the state of Israel is primarily based on race. Seems extremely racist to me. You view this as more progressive as the surrounding states? Interesting.
