Hi guys,

So lately I've been wanting to stream on Twitch. Getting bored with gaming and figured that maybe I'd enjoy streaming and interacting with other gamers. In order to stream at 480p successfully, you'd need a 1Mbps upload speed.

Do you know of any ISPs that offer that sort of deal? I know of line bonding but that requires 3 4MB lines to reach my upload goal.

Neotel Wimax is symmetrical - R999 for 4mb up and down.

www.amobia.com looks like a good choice. R799pm for a 4MB up and down connection.

Anyone dealt with Amobia before? How is their service?

Let me know if you find a solution. I currently do the same(stream to twitch regularly) and have the Neotel WiMax 5mb option which has an upload of 2mb. For some reason it will not stream at over 1000kb and results in lost frames. I am happy with the line, but the customer service is terrible, so be aware of that.

I can't seem to find their 4MB line.

Cheapest is R1 299 pm which is a bit much.

It isn't on their website:

This is from salesmen, i'm in the process of ordering 4mb.

"For uncapped services we have to send out a technician who will come and do
a line of sight to check for the signal strength. If he does pick up the
signal, he will install same time.

Note the following
1. The devices that we install will remain as property of Neotel
2. All contracts are 24 months
3. If you terminate before 24 months we will charge you R1000 termination
fee and then come and pick up the devices
4. All our packages have fair user polices but you can you as much data at
the same monthly fee.
5. We charge R500 installation
6. Package comes with 1 IP address with no option of additional IP address
7. The service does not come with a email address, if you have a email that
you would like to use from another company, you will have to contact them
and ask them to relay SMTP from their side so that you can be able to send
and receive emails on our service.

1Mbps is R499
2Mbps is R749
4Mbps is R999
6Mbps is R1499
All contracts are 24 months

Please email me these following Rica documents
ID Copy
Three months bank statement and
Proof of Address"

I've decided to go with Openweb's Gamers King special. A 10Mb uncapped line for R596 pm without line rental. So my upload speed should be around 1000kbps which is enough for 480p or so I've read.

i MIGHT be wrong but im pretty sure ADSL well up to 4 megs only has upload of 512kbps and im guessing 10mbps is the same

Its also depending on if your line is capable of uploading at 1024K. Some times, due to an exchange issue or just because you are quite far from the actual exchange you may only get ~640K

Channel bonding will be way more than R1299.

I think you need to contact Neotel for the updated pricing. They don't update their site that often. 2Meg would be fine for you.

This, bonding is 3 lines(R500 min each just telkom charges nvm the fees for bonding)
