I recently discovered Axxess and their prepaid bundles ... these seem like fantastic products to me, not sure if im a bit slow and this stuff has been around for a while ... I love the fact that the bandwidth does not expire ... or at least not within a year

Ive got an Axxess Local account and an Axxess semi shaped both prepaid,

are there any better deals out there ? which isps's offer the small amount of ntl bandwidth and large amount of local bandwith ?

anyone know if its possible to get a prepaid type account that will give you 1gb int / 10gb local and not expire at the end of the month ?

Unfortunately there is no package availible for local and international prepaid.
Web Africa does prepaid as well.
Shaped 1gb = R70
unshaped 1gb = R125
Prepaid local only 1gb = R19
However you can use RASPPPOE this will allow you to have 2 simultaneous accounts connected. It automatically routes local and international for you.

RasPPPoE does indeed allow for 2 simultaneous connections, but it doesn't do the routing. For that you need RouteSentry.

how does that work with your router ? because you configure your router with your adsl account details and the router is your default gateway, how would the setup change with routesentry ?

i see now how it works .... so I cant have my router connect like normal and then have one of my pc's running RASPPOE ?

Some people have their modems in half bridge mode, so the modem still makes the connection, and additionally you can make another connection from the computer. I haven't done it myself, so I can't really help more than that.

anyone know if the billion routers can work in this mode ?

Back on the original thread topic, Nexus offers a "Custom DSL" solution that uses IS Fibre Semi-shaped (which, as per the thread linked to in my signature, is significantly better performing for international access) to let you design your own package and auto-top-up limits, at about 7c/MB (~R72/GB). Data rolls over, too.
