ISP recommendation please

Hi all

I have a 1MB ADSL line and have been with openweb uncapped gold for 2 months. I have NOT been happy with the speeds. I download roughly 60GB or so per month and lately I get no more than 50k/s even late at night. Speedtest.net confirms this, so its not shaping protocols. Is this a Seacom issue?

So I need a ISP that can give me more reliable download speeds from fileserver/filesonic etc (60gb or so). Also an ISP with good pings for online gaming. I have been looking at Axxess, any other options/suggestions?

I use MWEB 4mbps uncapped, and have been getting really good speeds in the last few months

I just read that axxess was taken over by afrihost, so there goes that idea, afrihost must be the worst of the lot!

Webafrica or Afrihost capped. Afrihost have very large bandwidth accounts for cheap, and they frequently have a buy 1 get 1 free promotion. Webafrica has the download plus which allows you to download 100GB on most of their accounts between the hours of 0 and 6AM

You can try Axxess i have a 10mb line with them, my download are between 8.5 to 10mb,upload 800-900kb and my latency 30-50 range. So i am happy with them and there bandwidth and line prices are amongst the cheapest.

Why not just convert your account into a capped one with Openweb for R19 per GB? Uncapped is shaped, unless you pay over a grand for unshaped.

Why not just convert your account into a capped one with Openweb for R19 per GB? Uncapped is shaped, unless you pay over a grand for unshaped.

R19 * 60 = R1140, thats why

I am on 1mb shaped account, shaping do exist, still able to do 150gb+ pm
