It's not something that you can simply do overnight. I'm not trying to protect them but if one looks at other markets where LLU occurred you will conclude.

biggest stumbling block to the entire process = ICASA.

The very people who are supposed to be driving it, are delaying it.

“This is really dependent on when ICASA begins in earnest to design and implement a wholesale pricing structure,” said ISPA.

They can't do that in 4 years? Geez:confused:

SENTECH monopoly of high sites should also be unbundled. They don't seem to take advantage of the facilities that they have.

How many unused FM slots are there. How many unsused VHF TV slots are there ? Do they have any plan to use the "white space" that will become available when TV goes digital

One source for further info on understanding what LLU involves is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_loop_unbundling

As the article states, the initial network was built using ratepayers money and is owned by the parastatal, i.e. We for this and should be able to use it to access any provider we choose!

The main delay here is ICASA and the legal and monetary ramifications for guavamunt's cash cow! Sit down, work out a fair cost for competitive and fair access for all to the exchanges, and implement it! *grr* This kind of red tape bollocks really irritates me!
