ISPA welcomes conclusion of license conversion process

The Internet Service Providers' Association of South Africa (ISPA) welcomes the long-awaited conclusion of the conversion of value-added network services licences into electronic communications network services (ECNS) and electronic communications service (ECS) licences.

I think in this case the saying ‘rather late than never’ is appropriate. Many things have happened in a few months which should significantly increase competition in the local telecoms space.

For this kind of thing, it's never too late, even if the preference was for many years earlier.

Hopefully there aren't any big stumble blocks in the way.
If ICASA wants 3% licensing fees, LLU and wireless spectrum allocation should already have been completed
