The Internet Service Providers’ Association has welcomed new spectrum licence fee regulations

Happy days I forsee a lot more wireless backhaul using licensed frequencies instead of the unlicensed bands.

The new pricing model matches the value and scarcity of spectrum in a much better way than before. It's also nice to see that no one will be getting a free ride anymore - Telkom will finally be paying the same rates that everyone else has to.

100% - now to get ICASA to a position where it can deal with illegal use of licensed bands, especially 5.9 where a lot of the ISM kit can operate

Well, Dom, submit a complaint with specific details to one of ICASA's Regional Offices and I'm sure that those Landies' wheels will be rolling.
