ISPA's Internet exchange "doubling" plans

The Internet Service Providers’ Association is in the process of building a more redundant and competitive Internet exchange environment in SA

Sounds like a good idea. How about an exchange in Pretoria/Centurion too?

PINX - Pietermartizburg

CINX - Cape Town
GINX - George

PRINX - Pretoria
JINX - Johannesburg

BINX - Bloemfontein
PEINX - Port Elizabeth

Sounds like a good idea. How about an exchange in Pretoria/Centurion too?

If we receive a proposal from a facility in the Pretoria/Centurion area then we would definitely consider extending JINX to there.

Just for a point of clarity: What we will be looking for are sites within particular metro areas that will provide an extension to the existing exchange locations. We will not be setting up disconnected exchange points within the same metros as this will not benefit peering nearly as much.
