I have a 100mb/400gb combo with Axxess, but have been using close to the 400gb for the last 3 months, so last week I start looking at how much it would cost me to upgrade to a bigger data package. On Monday (26th) I log onto their portal and I get a price for the 100mb/600Gb package, and it's R1299.00, R260 more than I currently pay for the 100mb/400Gb package. Unfortunately there is no option to upgrade from the first of the month, so I wait until Friday the 30th before I upgrade my service. Imagine my surprise when I get an invoice for R1895 on Saturday, a whopping R595 more than I was expecting to pay!
I give their support number a call and the techie tells me that I've been billed as if I were a new customer, but that I would have to phone the accounts dept to sort it out. So this morning I phone the accounts people. The first person I speak to tells me that it was an error and that they would rectify it on their side. I ask them to send me the correct invoice as well as a credit note for the incorrect one, which I had already paid. A few minutes later I get two invoices, one for the old amount (100mb/400gb), and one for the new account (100mb/600gb) for R1895. No credit note. So I phone accounts again, explaining that I need a credit note as well as the new, corrected invoice. Now the story changes, I'm told that as I made a change to my service I would be liable for the new price.
Naturally I'm not happy with this, and we end our conversation with Axxess accounts telling me that they would see what they could do, before coming back to me.
Just got a call from their accounts dept. telling me that they can't do anything as I had changed my service, so I have to pay the new price. If I go back to my old package I'll have to pay the new price for that as well. Also, if I cancel no it will only come into effect at the end of August.
So long story short. I look at the Axxess website on Monday, get a price of R1299 for the service I want, upgrade it on Friday and Axxess have hiked the prices by R600. Then they say too bad, nothing we can do!
Seeing as there is a good chance that I'll not be doing business with Axxess in the foreseeable future, can anybody recommend a good ISP besides Axxess or AfriHost (sister company). My fibre line is hosted by OpenServe, so the ISP would have to be compatible with them.
