Issues with GridCars charging stations reported

GridCars is South Africa's largest public EV charge point operator (CPO), with more than 250 of its own direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) points in operation.

Several South African EV drivers have reported issues with GridCars chargers in 2026, some of which could not be fixed and forced them to find another station.

You can Rubicon app works on gridcars and Rubicon chargers, app is much better to use.

Overall charge pocket(grid cars) is pretty bad to use.

It's just irrational fear stemming from being ill informed though, a charging station cannot burn your battery, this is not like your 12V starting battery where you can swap terminals and then see smoke, the tech is way more advanced than that.

As you can see, the problems being mentioned doesn't include anything to do with plugging your car and then finding that your battery is burnt.
