Linked most probably with the new iMac range launched by Apple on Tuesday; iStore are reducing the prices on their iMacs.

So for those looking to get one of the existing iMac models; now could be a good time to buy (http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showfull.php?photo=17610)

On the other hand for those that have been waiting for the new iMacs (FYI I'm one of those); it would appear they should be here in August.

There are other shops. But I say it really doesn't matter, since they all buy from Core anyway.

I'd gladly shop elsewhere, but there has to be a good enough reason (more than just service; price is always preferred)
Ordering internationally just doesn't make sense; so until Apple decides to open something, Core will have to be it.

digicape, or get a windows machine for the same price but twice the power

Windows machine; you've got to be joking!
What is the benefit of digicape? are they cheaper?

This is one of the [many] reasons why I prefer laptops.

same pricing as zastore/istore, but much better service.

They do seem to make the extra effort on the occasions when I've had to resort to buying locally.

Fyi, I just looked at the digicape website; there is > R1000 difference for the same iMacs in the iStore ad.
Who knows maybe they'll match or better the iStore pricings if you show the advert.

I prefer to wait... for 27" with 2.93Ghz quad-core i7 chip, 1Gb ATI Radeon, 8Gb Ram, 250Gb SSD and 2Tb HDD; show me an equivalent spec PC that can be a Hackintosh, and maybe I reconsider; Windows is not an option.

Well I'll make a pass when the new stuff arrives, but there has to be more than just a friendly smile (when there is price collusion, why shop anywhere but the source).
I'd gladly support a grey products importer (with better prices); do you know any?

Hackintosh is an option. I can build you one, if you're in Gauteng.

Ok (yes I'm in Johannesburg); Without talking price, let's start with something simple.

The monitor must be the same quality (no plastic crap) -- What would you suggest in this space?

What is your price ballpark for a spec for spec match with the top end iMac. No skimping.

I'll PM you.
