Has anyone got this or used it? It's pretty much an accidental damage insurance for R59 per month or R99 for the option of a new phone if the old one is uneconomical to repair...

I'm quite keen on getting this... Thoughts?

That doesn't look like a bad idea to me - especially if you do not have the option of iCare anymore. Out of Office insurance for 2 X iPhones are R512p/m, and I am more concerned about damage than theft.

Thanks for sharing.

It's covered under my household insurance but the excess is R4k so I'd rather have something else for damages in case... I'll probably go ahead and register tonight :)

Even with the iCare option at R800, this comes to more (R1440) over the two years but allows for 6 screen repairs (3 per year)...

iCare, not iCare premium.

It used to be known as iCare Express, which allowed you to purchase a iPhone from any other store in SA and have it loaded which only covered one accidentally claim. This has now been discontinued.

ICare Plus however still does exist and can only be purchased from a iStore, provided that your iPhone or iPad was also purchased through a iStore on the very same day of purchase the iCare must be activated. The cost this is R799.00 for a iPhone and R399.00 for an iPad.

Phone inspection was meant to take 2 hours... Dropped it off at 11:45 and it was not ready by close of business... Collected my phone the next morning :). They open up the phone to check for water damage, etc... According to them, they leave no trace and therefore warranty isn't voided. They do cover phones that have signs of previous repairs.
