It’s amazing how one company finally takes a step in the right direction and people still complain! I mean Cell C’s pricing knocks Vodacom, MTN & Telkom out of the water! But yet people still seem to find fault with it. Maybe you should not have internet if are never happy with what is on offer.

i agree completely. this is the deal those of us who don't want to have to take out a contract with telkom have been waiting for for a long time! thank you cell c! i'm sure this move on their part will push wireless broadband prices down in the near future and benefit us all as consumers.

This offer is the cornerstone pillar of hope for all wireless subscribers.

All competitors will eventually have to react to these prices.

And for that a am already eternally grateful.

Thank you CellC!

vouch vouch

vodacon would NEVER ever have lowered their prices. They took cellc to icasa when they tried to lower their prices last time (Pre Seacom) and now when the bandwith finally arrived, do you think these fat cat's lowered their prices? NO!

Thank god for Cell C and their competative strategies

It's like this...

You have to understand, even with Cell C's price drops we still have a LONG way to go. These new prices are by far still not fair to average consumer. We must continue to harrass these rich companies until at least half of our population is satisfied. Other countries have done it, why not us? What is the reason Vodacom, MTN and Cell C and Telkom are ripping us off? Because we let them.

Sure it is a step in the right direction but it's a baby-step, we must continue to add pressure until one of these companies does it right. Not to mention the quality of service has yet to be tested...we deserve much better for the cash and struggle this country has and is going through. Don't let these companies lie to you.

I guess until:

  • South Africa goes live
  • You can buy data bundles from 1GB and up

People are going find a fault. You know I never seen a Cell C store so full (Sunday).People are buying into the new brand. Vodacom seems to be going in the direction of selling low-cost hardware and contracts. MTN is going business wise. I guess the 3G Price war hasnt HIT-HOME as yet and big dogs likes Vodacom and MTN are calling Cell C's blaf (like battleships):D

ID say by December we will see a price drop (these guys gota do homework:D)

are you talking about the cell c store in pavilion? i was also there saturday morning and it was pretty busy. how's all those lcd screens - overkill! lol

When is Durban expecting some coverage?

I hope Vodacom and MTN don't react - I want them to lose a very big amount of their users to CellC first, so they can see what happens when you don't play ball.

Interesting times ahead.....

Agreed, but also acknowledge and support the blokes who have at least taken that first step in the right direction. Some of the guys here are border-line trolls with their continual sniping ang griping. Bearing in mind the alternatives to what Cell C has offered, I can only assume they are
a) Happy with being shafted by the other companies, or are
b) Employed by said companies, and spend their days here trolling on purpose. I've learned to just ignore them, because they bring nothing new to the debate.

They should move the CellC forum and place it above the Vodacom forum as a reward for what they did.

Agreed !

Agreed ! I also hope that they dont react quickly otherwise they might spoil the party for Cell-C.

Hopefully they wait for the Whole Country to Go-Live then they re-act.......................

We might see alot of MTN & VodaCom Data sims going into the Trash Can.

PS. Word is out that MTN is planning something Big. Dont know if this is True But they have Huge money on Data and are pre-planning their profits on Data.
This Cell-C price cut is urely to impact their profits.

But at least MTN has Locked Telkom-Mobile into a 3G Data Roaming Agreement.

That means MTN will be giving Telkom one from behind ..............

Telkom-Mobile might struggle to get off the ground unless they offer something better than Cell-C.

MTN & VodaCom are surely going to Top-Dress their Data offerings.

NeoTel is OUT ! - Poor Coverage - Poor Service

Iburst is OUT ! - Poor Coverage - Poor Service

At least we have a good few months of Specials coming from all side for us Consumers.

Cell-C has an opportunity to Grab at Least 500 000 Users.

So that means this prepaid special has to Last till all Provinces have Launched.

We have at least 6 months to Check this Service out !

DXL- Team

I hope Cell C make a real go of it. I will be buying my SIM the moment they turn Durban on. The more viable competition the better!

We'll have to find an eco-friendly way to dispose all those Vodacom and MTN Data sims.

maybe vodacom n mtn will come out with 10gb or 20gb contracts to catch some big fish together with the 1,2 n 5gb montly contracts
feeling sorry for those that just took out 24 mnt contracts like 300mb or 600 mb for R199 OR R299

I can't wait. Went it to CellC today and was even prepared to pay upfront now.

I get ripped with the other lot and their uncompetitive behaviour and attitude towards the consumer.

I am using pay as u go prepaid bundles from both MTN and Vodacom as TELKOM just could not be bothered to offer anything.

I can get 5 gigs per month from CellC on their new offer for less than I can get 2 gigs from either of the other 'so called' competitors.

CellC, bring it on, my cash is yours!
