There is this one recruitment agency that got my details off Pnet and sent my CV to a company without my permission and they just told me there is a company that wants to speak to me. When i ask for job specification or salary they said there is none and salary is market related.

At their client I had a peak at the CV they sent. Making errors like the dates and writing in their format using large font to double the number of pages. The CV looks so much less readible and unprofessional than mine.

Questions.
1.What are my rights with a rec. company sending a CV without my permission?
2. If they refuse to send me a copy of the CV they created based off my CV what can I do?
3. What mistakes are reasonable seeing i don't get to see their CV they use as a representation to companies of me?
4. May I request the details years of exp of the agent as well as previous job profession if they have been a recruitment agent for a short while? School language marks?
5. Is there a way to request to which companies the rec.company sent my CV through and get a truthful answer?

I am thinking company X wants to hire 1 person out of 5 interviewees and a recruitment company doesn't have 5 so recruitment company acts unprofessionally in sending people's CV without their permission and doing a hasty and bad job.

If you put it on Pnet, then you dont have a leg to stand on.Any recruitment agency can grab Cv's off Pnet, reformat and submit to companies.I dont think ppl will care about formatting, its more about whats in the CV than how pretty it looks.

Sounds like you have a job already though? You are moaning and complaining and you dont have an offer yet?

Haven't used pnet myself but does a CV on the site include contact details? Or do companies and/or agents have to register with pnet to get that information? If so, I would inform pnet that one of the agencies using their site is doing a shoddy job of representing job seekers. Might not make a difference to them though since they're probably getting paid anyway.

From Pnet's T's & C's:
Access to the candidate resumé database is available only to PNet recruitment agency clients who have been approved for resumé search capabilities and whom PNet has issued with privileged access codes to search the PNet database. Such PNet clients may access the candidate resumé database solely for the purpose of identifying candidates whose work preferences for location, category, industry and occupation match the clients‘ current vacancy advertisements with PNet. While PNet will make every effort to ensure that PNet clients adhere to this undertaking, you herewith indemnify PNet against wrongful conduct, of any kind, by PNet recruitment agency clients.

In this case you have no leg to stand on.

Lastly: If you're not happy with the offer they present to you or worried it's dodgy - just walk away. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you into going to interviews or accepting jobs.
