I am getting a blackberry handset tomorrow, so I thought I would call ahead and get my BIS Set up as it takes a day to get working.
I called MTN on 808 as iTalk is no longer as of 11 September. First, the computer voice tells me my SP is iTalk and I must phone them...but after madly pushing some buttons, I get through to a consultant.
The consultant tells me that she cannot activate BIS because iTalk is still listed as my service provider by the network. I said to her, iTalk doesn't exist! Nope...there is nothing they can do except log a call with technical to see how long it will take to change the network to show MTNSP as my SP.
Then, I called 1555. Told them my story hoping to get a slightly better answer, and they told me blackberry service was ALREADY active on my account. (I had a blackberry about 5 months ago, cancelled my BIS service because I sold the phone).
I have never met a bunch of people who know less about what they are doing or how things should work. It seems to be utter confusion.
When the MTN rententions department calls me on 11 January to ask me why I am leaving MTN, I am going to direct them to this post. I am most unimpressed.
The move from iTalk to MTN should have been planned, implemented and been a smooth seemless process.
