Hi,

Can someone from Vodacom please explain to me why I pay R13 for itemised billing on my one contract, and R17 on the other one?????

And WHY do I pay SO MUCH for itemized billing that is emailed to me????? that's R30pm for an email with probably nor more than 500KB's worth of data!

I'm asking here, cause I think it could benefit a lot of other people as well.

Top Up and IB is charged @ R15.00
Normal Contracts are charged @ R17.50

The rest of your questions I can not answer as the pricing is worked out higher up within Vodacom.

again, why is it so expensive???? why do I have to pay R30pm just to see that Vodacom is in fact charging me what they say they are? R30 for 2, maybe 3 PDF pages worth of data?

It is a VAS and not mandatory. If you do not want it, you may have it de-activated. The only time that you will not be able to de-activate it is if IB and CLIP was mandatory charges included in your upgrade or new line deal.

heh, I thought as much. the "take it or leave it" argument already began, without any logic behind it.

My banks send me a free "itemized statement" every month, on email. It doesn't cost them much todo it, and is fully automated so there shouldn't be costs on it.

My question still is, why SO EXPENSIVE? What justification do you have? And pleas don't tell me it's a VAS product, that's just a classification. That doesn't indicate how you even got to the amount of R17 for that matter.

To get back to the point, why should a client pay to see that vodacom is charging them correctly, or not?

P.S. Do you work for vodacom? Or are you just an outsider?

I work for a Vodacom dealer and not Vodacom directly. As I mentioned in my previous post, I can not answer as to how Vodacom arrived @ that costing and therefore I am not going to get into a argument about it. I was merely stating that the IB for Top Up and normal contracts have different costing and that the service is not mandatory so you dont have to take it should you not be happy with the cost linked to it.

Perhaps VD can explain as to how Vodacom arrived @ the costing for the Itemized Billing service, but pricing is not his department so I would not expect him to have a answer on this. But lets see if he can elaborate for you.

Because, if you don't they'll just charge you more than they should to make up for the itemised billing you don't pay for.

I doubt you'll get a more useful answer from them any time in the future. Unfortunately big companies don't really care as long as they have your money :(

IMO, Vodacom doesnt need to justify why its so expensive.

For example, you could start your own cellular company, and charge your own itemized billing @ R1000. There doesnt have to be a reason for it to be so expensive. People can either take it or leave it.

Just my opinion.

PS: Also, should you not have Itemized Billing as a service on your number, but you feel that you need to question a certain bill, then you may request the IB for that bill from your service provider. Your service provider will then just charge you for that one Itemized Bill to resolve the query.

Also note that Nashua might charge a different fee for Itimized Billing as apposed to VSP if I am not mistaken.
