It's a two-way race...

370% less?

That's impossible!

That would mean that they pay you 2.7 times as much as Multichoice charges for their service.

Who writes this rubbish?

It will offer a basic bouquet of channels estimated to cost no more than R100/month - 370% less than the incumbent's price.

Where to begin with the factual errors?

DSTV has had a "basic bouquet" for quite a while now. Which is R199, aka the telkom offer would be 50% cheaper. And the telkom offer would be ~80% cheaper than the expensive DSTV one.

Chimwemwe probably didn't do too well at maths at high school either. I once sat through a course of maths for journalists, um lets just say that most journalists talents lie elsewhere. :o

EXCLUDING the price for the ADSL2+ connection!!!!!

I don't know, since there's already competition in the Pay-TV market for them, I suspect that they'll come up with something good.

Either that or they'll fade away like AstraSat did.

anyone who can give me:

HBO,
The CW (former WB),
the real Cartoon Network with Adult Swim,
NBC,
ABC,
FOX,
FX,
CBS,
Discovery Channel,
National Geographic,
something similar to SuperSport 1 - 7,
MTV with Base,
something similar to Channel O,
some news channels (CNN, BBC, Fox News and ETV News) (screw the SA-propaganda-BC),
and something similar to DMX Music,

then i wouldnt mind forking out R400 a month. bonus if its all in HD (or add an extra R100 for the HD) :D

You're not gonna get NBC, CBS or ABC and I doubt any other countries have those and if they do they'd probably charge a crap load for it. But your channel selection is spot on, those channels are definitely worth R500.

A two way race?

Always thought the saying was "A two horse race".
Similar to "wake up and smell the coffee" whatever happened to roses?

this still gets me, telkom are willing to give you a 24mb line with adsl+2 to stream unlimited tv, but why cant they give you unlimited local cap?? and they cant say that there network cant handle it:confused::confused: there shooting them selves in the foot...

The verdict arrives in 4 months.
