So the last few days I've been struggling with my internet connection on my 1MB ADSL Line.. So I headed over to Speedtest.net to perform a (few) speedtest(s).

Seems like on my 1MB WA Home Uncapped account, I only get a max download speed of 0.60Mb/s. I then switched to my Mweb Home Uncapped account and perform the same test and get 0.80+ Mb/s, which is more in line with a 1MB line..

Things didn't get better and I decided to contact WA's Support Dept, whom have asked me to perform 2 basic tests:

1) Perform a tracert to their site
2) Switch to Telkom Guest Account and do a speedest on Saix.net.

So I have done both and the latency on the tracert seems acceptable - doing the SAIX speedtest with the test account, shows my ADSL line is running at 100% speed.

WA replies and say they will test my Uncapped account on their side, after which they sent me their test results saying there is nothing wrong with the ADSL account..

Point is, I still get only 0.50Mb/s - 0.60Mb/s on my Uncapped Account..

Atleast I know.. it's not you, WebAfrica, it's me...

I had this exact same problem when signing up for a 10MB Home Uncapped Account!

Funny thing is, I also have a 4Mb Home Uncapped Account with WA which performed better on the 10MB line than the 10MB account did.

They also got me to do the same tests & also tested from their side saying nothing was wrong.

The only thing I can think of is the 4MB account was created before the move over to IS, and has @wadsl on the username.
Where the new 10MB account had just @wa on the username.... Could this some how be related at all?

:confused::confused::confused:
