I'm installing a Core 2 Duo 3.16GHz (45nm) and the Intel heatsink is so miniscule and the CPUs got 6MB of L2 cache!

Damn, I havent built a new up to date system in a while. Things sure do change.

I'll try to load a picture later.

Upload a pic with a Presshot as well so we can see the difference :D

And along comes Nehalem (on the right):

Presshot's nice - in winter and the company pays for the electricity it consumes :D

Nehalem looks like a big bugger...

Correct spelling is Prescott, btw... :p

From what I've been able to find, this seems to be it:

Yeah, I'm installing a Nehalem then (its the one on the left I would think). The one on the right would be the Presshot.

Nope, the one on the right is the Nehalem's cooler (the Nehalem will only be released next month).

I recently put together 3 new computers for work, and the first thing that struck me when I took out the cooler and CPU from the box, was that the cooler has gone on a big diet.

Compared to the sinks of P4's, Pentium D's and earlier Core 2's, these things looked positively anorexic lol. I'm not honestly sure how good they actually work, since the Core 2 E4600's they are cooling seem to be a little too warm at idle for my liking.
